November 2021 Photography
Well now, Autumn lingered a little longer than I was thinking it would. At first I thought my subject matter was going to be more brown and grey as the leaves fell to the ground, but the hung on long enough to get a couple more weekends of Fall photography in the books for the year.
With that, here are the photography highlights from November!
Staying more Local
At the tail end of October, I squeezed in one last outing before Halloween to get some more color. Not feeling up for long drives that day, I decided to stay more local and photograph in a couple nature trails that I’ve done before, but never in Autumn. I also stoped at another park in the immediate area around those trails as well. Walking through the woods, wetlands, and beaches of Rosy Mound, Hemlock Crossing, and Pine Bend made for a peaceful and relaxing day.
Holding on to the Colors
The first weekend of November came, and the colors, although rusty, were still here. To make the most of the dwindling season, I went south to photograph along the Indiana border to get the best Michigan color that I could. I found a wetland preserve near the border to photograph that day, then on the way home stopped by Van Buren State Park to get a little bit of lakeshore in my day.
To the South…Again!
The following weekend, I was invited on a day trip down to Shipshewana. My time in Amish country was devoted to food and shopping rather than photography, but that didn’t stop me from hitting a few places up with my camera gear along the way home. This week, I hit up another preserve along the Indiana border, and then (you guessed it), some more places in Van Buren county that I haven’t been to before. So overall, not much different from what I did the week before, but there was still some hints of fall color in the areas we stopped at.
