May/June 2022 Photography

Phew, it’s been a busy couple of months. For the first time in a few years, I’ve made it out of Michigan for some photography, or beyond the neighboring states at least. Those pictures kept me busy for a good while to the point that I missed on out a May update.

That being said, here are the photography highlights for May & June!

The Alaska Mission Trip!!!

The week finally came!!! 9 years since the previous adventure! I finally made it back to Alaska.  I have so much to tell about the week in Alaska.  But rather than reading it here and cluttering this blog post with all the shots I took, check out the designated gallery page I made for the trip here.

#hike21 at Cottonwood Park

After a few weeks working on all the Alaska photos, I needed to get back into the hiking challenge, so to get myself going again I took a short nature walk in a small park near home.  I’ve done it many times before and didn’t take too many shots, but at least I got out there.

#hike 22 & 23 down South

After a while, I wanted to get back to work on my mosaic project, so we took a day down south to progress on that.  We stopped at Fred Russ State Forests in Cass County to fill in a bit of that square in the mosaic, then on the way home we stopped at the Kal-Haven trail head in South haven to fill in the last little bit of Van Buren county on the Mosaic.

#hike 24 & 25 to Kalamazoo

Trying to stay on track, the next outing was to the Kalamazoo area to do some more work for the mosaic.  We went to the Kalamazoo Nature Center, where we got variety of landscapes to walk through as well as some good wildlife sightings.  After that, we stopped at the Kalamazoo end of the Kal-Haven trail for some shots to get a sense of completion for that area of the mosaic.
